Update

EAORA Events

Last week I finally managed to finish an EAORA event, the Buckley Goblets. It took me, my father, Eric and Steve 10 hours and 42 minutes to get from West Mersea to Ostend. While I am sure we were last I am pretty pleased. Finishing was lovely and to find out we were only 20 minutes behind the winner of our class was reassuring. Yes… I know we give them time however the boat is still laden with gear from Santander and my sails, specifically the main, are trashed and very tired. Not for long……

New Sails

Having abused and trashed my sails this year I figured I should purchase some new ones. I spent some time researching what would be best for my plans, specifically a big 2 handed event next year and then (fingers crossed), the AZAB in 2007. The Petit Bateau crowd offered lots of advice and the sail makers spoke in tongues. In the end I gave the business to Dolphin. The are delivering me a new fully battened main with cars, a Number 2, a Number 3 and a 51sqm 1.5oz Asymmetric Screacher. In terms of material I opted for a carbon, spectra mix with double taffeta.
