New Sails (and halyard)

Last weekend Charlie from Dolphin sails came to the boat along with my father and between us we fitted my new sails. I purchased a new number 2, a new number 3, a new main and a 1.5oz 57sqm asymmetric screecher.

The spreader patches were sewn and stuck this week and my father and I put the main back onto the boat this morning. We also replaced the main halyard; during trials last weekend we found the original halyard flat in places and worn.

After some discussion about sail cloth on Petit Bateau and a fair bit of research on my part I opted for a Graphx carbon laminate with taffetas from Dimension Polyant for the No. 2, 3 and main. The main is now fully battened and uses Fredriksen cars.

Finally to top it all off I got my self a new sail cover made.
