About Ninjod

Ninjod is a modified JOD 35 (Jeanneau One Design 35) fitted out to comply with ISAF category 2 regulations.

The name Ninjod is a term often used at my place of work. When something excellent is achieved in a short amount of time it has often been “Ninja'd”...

Modifications to Ninjod include 2x500 litre water ballast tanks and an additional set of top spreaders and strengthened mast for a top spinnaker. The water ballast modification was designed by Paul Peggs and has been implemented in a number of other JOD's. A document describing the design can be found here and a parts list can be found here.

Ninjod's home port is on the River Crouch on the East Coast of England.

Aside from all of the equipment required for ISAF category 2 Ninjod is equipped with a wide range of electronics that feed boat data (wind, heading etc.) into 1 of 2 computers running Maxsea software. Ninjod also has an Atoms self steering wind vane system.
